Creating Strategies Based on Your Unique Needs

We believe experienced advisors add value to clients and their investment portfolios. Nothing can fully protect an individual from market volatility, but there are certainly decisions and choices that can minimize the risk.

Far more money has been lost by investors preparing for corrections, or trying to anticipate corrections, than has ever been lost in corrections themselves.”

~ Peter Lynch

Trinity Financial Group uses an evidence-based, academically researched approach to create long-term, diversified portfolios to help clients achieve their unique financial goals, needs, and objectives.

Strategies Built on Relationships and Experience

At Trinity Financial Group, we believe relationships are the foundation of any successful strategy. With our nearly 75 years of combined experience, we start the investment planning process with relationships.

We want to know your financial and retirement goals. We take time to fully understand your concerns and challenges. We want to understand how you respond to risk and your comfort with volatility.

There’s no universal correct investment strategy for everyone, but there is an appropriate strategy for your unique needs. Our team of experienced investment professionals helps you implement that strategy and refine it over time as your needs and goals evolve.

Which investment strategy makes the most sense for you?

There are a wide range of asset classes available to develop a portfolio. In fact, when you consider the breadth of asset types and classes, it’s possible that today’s investors have more choices available than at any other time in history.

Choice is usually a good thing, but it can create challenges. With so many options and possibilities available, how do you know if your portfolio is the right one? Are there other investments or strategies that would offer more return or less risk? How do you make sense of it all?

Before we start recommending investment strategies, we start at the same point - you. We seek to understand your goals and objectives before we start the portfolio development process. Some of the types of questions we’ll ask as we get to know you better include:

  • How do you intend to use the funds? Do you have an objective for them? Are they for retirement, legacy, or perhaps some other purpose?
  • When do you anticipate that you will need the funds?
  • What are your return and risk expectations?
  • How do you react when your investments decline? Do you make quick decisions? Do you wait to see how things will play out in the long-term?
  • How much attention do you pay to financial news and stock market returns? How are you affected by bad news?
  • What are your concerns about the future, financial and otherwise?

This is just a sample of some of the topics we may discuss. The process is thorough because it has to be. We take our responsibility to our clients very seriously, so we make sure to leave no stone unturned during the discovery process.

How do you protect my portfolio from loss?

Risk is a natural part of investing. While it’s true that some assets are historically more volatile than others, there are very few assets that are “risk-free.” And very often, the asset classes that offer the least risk exposure also have very low historical returns.

We take a comprehensive approach to risk management within a portfolio. Our guide is always your specific goals and risk tolerance. Portfolios are tailored to align with each client’s appetite for volatility. While some clients may tolerate more risk in the pursuit of higher returns, others may place a priority on risk mitigation.

We also consider macro and micro economic factors, including:

  • Global economic conditions
  • Business cycles
  • Industry and sector factors
  • Relative performance of individual asset classes
  • And much more

Through this process, we identify the right mix of asset classes, investments, and other financial tools to target the return and risk levels that align with your financial goals. We monitor your portfolio on an ongoing basis and meet regularly with you to adjust your strategy as needed.

What if my situation changes?

Change is a part of life. Your goals and needs may change. Your tolerance for risk will likely change over time. You may even experience significant life changes that alter your investment strategy.

Through whatever change comes your way, we’ll be there. We believe that relationships are essential to life, so we strive for our client relationships to last forever. Our team is by your side no matter what life throws your way, and we’ll work with you to adjust and evolve your strategy as your situations changes.

We meet regularly to discuss your financial and retirement goals and your strategy, and we consistently reach out to keep you updated not only on your portfolio’s performance but the overall conditions of the financial markets and the economy.
